Side Effects to Report

There are a number of possible side effects with Visken that you should report to your healthcare provider. These include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Lightheadedness or fainting, which can be a sign of dangerously low blood pressure (hypotension)
  • Irregular, fast, or slow heart rate
  • Chest pain
  • Worsening of asthma
  • Depression
  • Signs of heart failure, such as a rapid weight gain, swelling of the hands and feet, and shortness of breath
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, including unexplained rash, hives, itching, unexplained swelling, wheezing, or difficulty breathing or swallowing.
     

Less Common Visken Side Effects

There are other, less common side effects that may occur. In studies, these side effects occurred in less than 2 percent of people. It is difficult to know for sure if these side effects were actually related to Visken use or were caused by unrelated factors. These less common side effects included:
 

Final Thoughts

It is possible that you may experience some or none of the side effects listed in this article. Unfortunately, there is no way for your healthcare provider to know beforehand if you will have side effects from a medicine that you have never tried. Therefore, make sure to let your healthcare provider know if you develop any side effects while taking Visken or if something "just does not seem right." While it may not be a side effect of Visken, your healthcare provider will be able to diagnose and treat the problem.
