People who have high blood pressure may benefit from using Verelan® (verapamil hydrochloride). This prescription medication is a type of calcium channel blocker; it works by relaxing the blood vessels to improve blood flow. As with any drug, there are possible side effects with Verelan. Some of the common side effects seen with this drug include constipation, headaches, and dizziness. Prior to taking Verelan, be sure to talk to your healthcare provider about your medical history and any other medicines you are taking (including vitamins and herbal supplements).
