Off-Label Uses of Toprol-XL

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend Toprol-XL for treating something other than the conditions listed in this article. This is known as an "off-label" use of the medication. Some off-label uses of Toprol XL include:

Improving survival after a heart attack
Treating an arrhythmia (abnormal electrical activity in the heart)
Treating hyperthyroidism
Preventing migraines
Relieving alcohol withdrawal symptoms
Treating or preventing anxiety, including social phobia and performance anxiety.
