Toprol-XL Precautions and Warnings

For people taking Toprol-XL, precautions and warnings to be aware of with the medication concern such things as the dangers of stopping the drug abruptly. Some other precautions and warnings for Toprol-XL users have to do with the drug's potential to cause extremely low blood pressure. Certain people should not take the medication, such as those with serious congestive heart failure.

  • Are breastfeeding
  • Will be undergoing surgery or anesthesia.
     
Tell your healthcare provider about all other medicines that you may be taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, antacids, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
