Toprol-XL Interactions

When medications such as Lamisil, Cardura, or Cymbalta are taken Toprol-XL, interactions between the drugs may occur. Some drug interactions may cause your body to metabolize the medicines differently than intended or lead to side effects such as extremely high blood pressure, slowed heart rate, or high blood sugar levels.

Toprol-XL Interactions: An Overview

There are a number of medicines that may interact with
 Toprol-XL® (metoprolol succinate). Some of the medications that can lead to drug interactions with Toprol-XL include:
 
 
 
 
 
  • Certain arrhythmia medications, such as:
     
    • Amiodarone (Cordarone®)
    • Disopyramide (Norpace®, Norpace CR®)
    • Lidocaine (Xylocaine®)
    • Propafenone (Rythmol®)
    • Quinidine
