Most people are able to take Toprol-XL® without experiencing any problems, but side effects are possible. Some of the most common side effects of Toprol-XL include slow heart rate, tiredness, dizziness, and itching. Side effects of the medication that are less common include such things as headache, insomnia, and hepatitis.
Although side effects of Toprol-XL are generally minor, there are serious health problems that can occur with the medication. Notify your healthcare provider immediately if you experience chest pain, confusion, or fainting spells with Toprol-XL.
