Tekturna Drug Interactions

Furosemide (Lasix)
Tekturna can decrease your blood levels of furosemide, possibly making furosemide less effective. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your furosemide dosage if you start or stop taking Tekturna.

Cyclosporine (Gengraf, Neoral, Sandimmune)
Cyclosporine can greatly increase the level of Tekturna in your blood. These medications should not be taken together.

Itraconazole (Sporanox)
Itraconazole can greatly increase the level of Tekturna in your blood. These drugs should not be taken together.

Ketoconazole (Nizoral)
Ketoconazole can increase the level of Tekturna in the blood, which could increase your risk of Tekturna side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your Tekturna dosage if you start or stop taking ketoconazole, although this may not be necessary in all cases.

Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs)
Tekturna can interact with NSAIDs in several ways. The combination could cause your blood pressure to increase or may cause swelling (edema), especially if you have congestive heart failure (CHF). If you are elderly, have kidney disease or kidney failure, or are taking a diuretic ("water pill") or are dehydrated, taking NSAIDs and Tekturna together may cause kidney failure. Talk to your healthcare provider about this potential drug interaction before taking these medications together.

Potassium
Combining Tekturna with potassium may increase your risk of high blood potassium (hyperkalemia), which can be a serious problem. If you take these medications together, your healthcare provider should monitor your potassium levels.

Spironolactone Products (Aldactone, Aldactazide)
Combining Tekturna with spironolactone may increase your risk of high blood potassium (hyperkalemia), which can be a serious problem. If you take these medications together, your healthcare provider should monitor your potassium levels.
