Tekturna Drug Interactions (Cont.)

Tekturna Interactions Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when Tekturna is combined with any of the drugs listed above.

ACE Inhibitors
Combining Tekturna with an ACE inhibitor may increase your risk of high blood potassium (hyperkalemia), which can be a serious problem. If you take these medications together, your healthcare provider should monitor your potassium levels.

Amiloride Products (Midamor, Moduretic)
Taking Tekturna with amiloride may increase your risk of high blood potassium (hyperkalemia), which can be a serious problem. If you take these medications together, your healthcare provider should monitor your potassium levels.

Angiotensin II Receptor Blockers (ARBs)
Combining Tekturna with an ARB may increase your risk of high blood potassium (hyperkalemia), which can be a serious problem. If you take these medications together, your healthcare provider should monitor your potassium levels.

Atorvastatin Products (Lipitor, Caduet)
Atorvastatin can increase the level of Tekturna in the blood by as much as 50 percent. This could increase your risk of Tekturna side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your Tekturna dosage if you start or stop taking atorvastatin, although this may not be necessary in all cases.

Furosemide (Lasix)
Tekturna can decrease your blood levels of furosemide, possibly making furosemide less effective. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your furosemide dosage if you start or stop taking Tekturna.

Cyclosporine (Gengraf, Neoral, Sandimmune)
Cyclosporine can greatly increase the level of Tekturna in your blood. These medications should not be taken together.
