What Is Tekamlo Used For?
- Not taking any blood pressure medications but who will likely need two medications to adequately treat their hypertension.
- Taking either aliskiren or amlodipine alone and their blood pressure is not adequately controlled.
- Already taking aliskiren or amlodipine and are experiencing problematic side effects related to the dose of the medication. Using the medications together may allow for a dose reduction, perhaps reducing the problematic side effects.
- Already taking both aliskiren and amlodipine and may want to switch to Tekamlo for cost savings or to take fewer pills per day.
High blood pressure is defined as an
average blood pressure higher than 140/90 with multiple
blood pressure readings, although many healthcare providers consider anything above 120/80 to be too high. A single blood pressure reading may point to a potential problem but is not enough to diagnose high blood pressure.
This medication is not a cure for high blood pressure, however, and the condition will almost certainly return once you stop using Tekamlo.
