Clinical Effects

Previous studies have already demonstrated that the two components of Tekamlo can lower blood pressure when used alone. Studies of Tekamlo showed that using the two components together provided even great effects on reducing blood pressure.

When and How to Take Tekamlo

General considerations to keep in mind during treatment with Tekamlo include the following:
  • Tekamlo comes in tablet form. It is taken by mouth once daily.
  • You should try to take this medication consistently either with or without food, since fatty meals may decrease the absorption of it. This is not a problem, as long as you take Tekamlo consistently with regard to food.
  • Be sure to take it at the same time each day in order to maintain an even level in your blood.
  • For the medication to work properly, it must be taken as prescribed. It will not work if you stop taking it.

Dosing Information

The dosage your healthcare provider recommends will vary, depending on a number of factors, including:
  • How you respond to this drug
  • Other medications you are taking
  • Other medical conditions you may have.
As is always the case, do not adjust your dose unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.

Side Effects

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with Tekamlo. However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious reactions are less common.
The most common side effect of Tekamlo is swelling (water retention) in the lower limbs.
