An Overview of Tarka Side Effects
As with any medicine, there are possible side effects associated with
Tarka® (
trandolapril/
verapamil hydrochloride ER). However, not everyone who takes Tarka will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate Tarka well. When people do develop Tarka side effects, in many cases they are minor, meaning they require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects can occur, but are less common.

Common Tarka Side Effects
Tarka has been studied extensively in clinical trials, with thousands of people worldwide having been evaluated.
In these studies, side effects are always documented and compared to side effects that occur in a similar group of people not taking the medicine. Based on these studies, the most common Tarka side effects seen in people with
high blood pressure include:
- Headaches -- up to 8.9 percent of people
- Upper respiratory tract infections, such as the flu or common cold -- up to 5.4 percent of people
- Cough -- up to 4.6 percent of people (see Tarka Cough)
- A certain type of irregular heart rhythm (known as AV block) -- up to 3.9 percent of people
- Constipation -- up to 3.3 percent of people
- Increased liver enzymes in the blood -- up to 3.2 percent of people.
