Tarka Drug Interactions
An Overview of Drug Interactions With Tarka
Tarka® ( trandolapril/ verapamil hydrochloride ER) can potentially interact with a number of other medicines. Some of these medications that may interact with Tarka include (but are not limited to):
- Carbamazepine (Carbatrol®, Epitol®, Equetro®, Tegretol®, Tegretol XR®)
- Certain arrhythmia medications, including:
- Amiodarone (Cordarone®)
- Dofetilide (Tikosyn®)
- Disopyramide (Norpace®, Norpace CR®)
- Flecainide (Tambocor™)
- Quinidine
- Sotalol (Betapace®)
- Certain statin medications, such as:
- Erythromycin (Ery-Tab®)
- Injectable gold (sodium aurothiomalate)
- Lithium (Eskalith®, Lithane®, Lithobid®, Lithonate®, Lithotabs®)
- Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as:
- Celecoxib (Celebrex®)
- Diclofenac (Cambia™, Cataflam®, Flector®, Pennsaid®, Solaraze® Gel, Voltaren®, Voltaren® Gel, Voltaren®-XR, Voltaren Ophthalmic®, Zipsor™)
- Etodolac (Lodine®, Lodine® XL)
- Ibuprofen (Motrin®, Advil®, Nuprin®)
- Indomethacin (Indocin®, Indocin SR®)
- Ketoprofen (Orudis®, Actron®, Oruvail®)
- Ketorolac (Sprix™, Toradol®)
- Meloxicam (Mobic®)
- Nabumetone (Relafen®)
- Naproxen (Naprosyn®) or naproxen sodium (Aleve®, Anaprox®, Naprelan®)
- Oxaprozin (Daypro®)
- Piroxicam (Feldene®)
- Others (see List of NSAIDs for a more complete list of these medications)
- Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
- Potassium-containing products, such as:
- Potassium chloride (K-Dur®, Klor-Con®, Micro-K®)
- Potassium citrate (Urocit-K®, Polycitra-K®)
- Potassium gluconate
- Potassium phosphate (Neutra-Phos-K®, K-Phos®)
- Salt substitutes (used to flavor food)
- Potassium-sparing diuretics, such as:
- Rifampin (Rifadin®, Rimactane®, Rofact®)
- Theophylline (Uniphyl®, Theocron®, TheoCap®, Theo-24®, Elixophyllin®).
