Drug Interactions With Perindopril

When some medications are taken together, there is a possibility of developing negative drug interactions. With perindopril, an interaction may occur if the medicine is taken with potassium supplements, diuretics, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, potassium-sparing diuretics, gentamicin, or lithium. These drug interactions with perindopril may cause your body to metabolize the medicines differently than intended and increase the levels in your blood.

Drug Interactions With Perindopril: An Introduction

Perindopril (Aceon®) can potentially interact with a number of other medicines. Some of these drug interactions with perindopril can include:

Diuretics
When taking perindopril with a diuretic, your blood pressure may decrease too much. This is more likely to occur when perindopril is first started. In order to decrease the chances of this interaction, your healthcare provider may change the dosages of medicine, start you on a lower dose of perindopril, and/or monitor you more closely.
