What Is Norvasc Taken For?
Norvasc
is taken for the treatment of several medical conditions, including:
High blood pressure
(
hypertension
). Norvasc can be used alone or in combination with other
blood pressure medication
.
Certain
types of angina
(chest pain), including exercise-induced
angina
(chronic
stable angina
) and vasospastic angina (
Prinzmetal
's or
variant angina
).
Coronary artery disease
without
heart failure
to reduce the risk of hospitalization due to angina and reduce the risk for
angioplasty
or
bypass surgery
.
In some situations, Norvasc is also taken for the treatment of other conditions, including:
Cluster headaches
Migraines
Raynaud's syndrome
Congestive heart failure
