What Is Norvasc Taken For?

Norvasc is taken for the treatment of several medical conditions, including:

High blood pressure (hypertension). Norvasc can be used alone or in combination with other blood pressure medication.
Certain types of angina (chest pain), including exercise-induced angina (chronic stable angina) and vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal's or variant angina).
Coronary artery disease without heart failure to reduce the risk of hospitalization due to angina and reduce the risk for angioplasty or bypass surgery.

In some situations, Norvasc is also taken for the treatment of other conditions, including:

Cluster headaches
Migraines
Raynaud's syndrome
Congestive heart failure.
