Norvasc Blood Pressure Medicine

Norvasc® is a
 high blood pressure medication that is licensed for use in adults and children between the ages of 6 and 17.
 
Other than the treatment of high blood pressure, Norvasc can also be used for certain types of angina and coronary artery disease to reduce the risk of hospitalization due to angina.
 
Norvasc, which is part of a class of drugs called calcium channel blockers, helps slow the rate of calcium movement to the heart and vessel walls. This helps to relax the vessels, which allows for better blood flow and causes lower blood pressure.
 
Norvasc blood pressure medicine comes in tablet form, is generally taken once a day, and is available in three strengths: Norvasc 2.5 mg, Norvasc 5 mg, and Norvasc 10 mg.
