Generic Nifedipine

Nifedipine is currently available in generic form. Some versions of the drug are approved for treating chest pain (angina), and others are approved for treating high blood pressure. Generic nifedipine is made by a number of manufacturers, including Teva Pharmaceuticals and Ivax Corporation.

Generic Nifedipine: An Overview

 Nifedipine is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of chest pain (known medically as angina) and high blood pressure (hypertension). It is part of a group of medications called calcium channel blockers.
 
There are many different versions of nifedipine. Some are equivalent to each other, while others are not. Not all nifedipine medications are approved for the same uses, and the dosages may be different. Different versions of nifedipine include:
