Monopril-HCT Drug Interactions

Monopril-HCT drug interactions with other medications, such as diuretics, potassium supplements, or antacids, may cause changes within the body that can lead to serious problems. These drug interactions can cause the body to metabolize the medications differently than intended or cause your blood pressure to become too low. Therefore, it is important for people who take Monopril-HCT to consult their pharmacist or healthcare provider about any drug interactions that may apply to them.

 Monopril®-HCT (fosinopril sodium-hydrochlorothiazide) can potentially interact with a number of other medicines. Some of the medications that may lead to Monopril-HCT drug interactions can include:

  • Antacids, such as Maalox®, Mylanta®, Riopan®, Gelusil®, Rolaids®, ALternaGEL®, Amphojel®, and others
    •  
  • Barbiturates, such as:

 

    • Amobarbital (Amytal®)
    • Butabarbital (Butisol Sodium®)
    • Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
    • Primidone (Mysoline®)
    • Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
