Who Should Not Take Micardis?

You should not take Micardis if you:
  • Are allergic to Micardis, telmisartan, or any inactive component used in making Micardis. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients in Micardis.
  • Have diabetes and are also taking any medications that contain aliskiren (Tekturna®, Tekamlo®, Tekturna HCT®, Amturnide®, Valturna®), due to an increased risk for low blood pressure, high blood potassium, and kidney problems in this situation.
