What Is Mavik Used For?

Many people wonder, "What is Mavik used for?" Mavik is a prescription medicine commonly used for controlling high blood pressure. By lowering blood pressure, Mavik can also reduce the risks that accompany long-term high blood pressure. Mavik also increases the survival rate of people who develop heart failure or left ventricular dysfunction following a heart attack. Finally, for those with left ventricular dysfunction, Mavik can decrease the chances of developing CHF symptoms by 20 percent.  Mavik is not approved for use in children and currently has no off-label uses.

 

What Is Mavik Used For? -- An Overview

 Mavik® (trandolapril) is a prescription medication that has been licensed to treat a number of conditions. These Mavik uses include:
 
High Blood Pressure
A blood pressure reading consists of two numbers, for example 120/80. The top number is known as the systolic blood pressure and the bottom number is the diastolic blood pressure. High blood pressure is defined as an average blood pressure higher than 140/90 with multiple blood pressure readings.
 
Based on clinical studies, Mavik has been shown to significantly lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure. The higher the dose of Mavik, the greater the drop in blood pressure tended to be. By lowering blood pressure, Mavik can also decrease the risks that occur with long-term high blood pressure (see Effects of High Blood Pressure). Mavik is not a cure for high blood pressure.
