Mavik Side Effects: An Overview
As with any medicine, there are possible side effects with
Mavik® (
trandolapril). However, not everyone who takes the medicine will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate Mavik well. When people do develop Mavik side effects, in many cases they are minor, meaning they either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects can occur but are less common.
About 1.4 percent of people stop taking Mavik because of side effects.
(The Mavik side effects discussed below are not a complete list of side effects reported with Mavik. Your healthcare provider can discuss a more complete list of side effects with you.)

- Extremely low blood pressure -- up to 11 percent
- Heartburn or indigestion (dyspepsia) -- up to 6.4 percent.
Other side effects with Mavik (occurring in more than 1 percent of people with high blood pressure, left ventricular dysfunction, or congestive
heart failure) include but are not limited to:
- Increased potassium levels in the blood
- Fainting (syncope)
- Slowed heart rate
