The recommended starting Mavik dosage for people with congestive heart failure or left ventricular dysfunction following a heart attack is 1 mg once a day. Over the next several weeks, your healthcare provider may increase your dose to a target dose of Mavik 4 mg once a day. If side effects occur, a lower dose may be recommended.

Your Mavik dosage should be taken by mouth with a glass of water.
Mavik may be taken with or without food.
Do not break, chew, or crush the Mavik tablets.
