If you have high blood pressure, a healthcare provider may prescribe Tribenzor. This medication comes in tablet form and is taken once daily. Because it is a combination of three different blood pressure medications, it works by relaxing the blood vessels, improving blood flow, and decreasing blood volume. Possible side effects include dizziness, swelling, and headaches.
Tribenzor may be a good option for people who are already taking two blood pressure medications without adequate blood pressure control. It may also be an option for people who are already taking the individual Tribenzor components as three separate pills and would rather take just one pill. Tribenzor is not approved for use as the first-choice medication to treat high blood pressure.

How Does Tribenzor Work?
Tribenzor is a combination of three different prescription blood pressure medications -- olmesartan, amlodipine, and hydrochlorothiazide.
Olmesartan belongs to a class of medications called angiotensin II receptor blockers (or commonly "ARBs"). Angiotensin II is a vasoconstrictor. This means that it narrows the blood vessels, making it harder for the heart to pump blood through them. As a result, blood pressure increases.
Olmesartan blocks angiotensin II receptors, thus preventing angiotensin II from narrowing the blood vessels. Because the blood vessels stay relaxed, blood pressure lowers.
Amlodipine is part of a class of drugs called calcium channel blockers. It works by slowing down the rate at which calcium moves into the heart and blood vessel walls. This helps to relax the blood vessels, which improves blood flow and lowers blood pressure. It also makes it easier for the heart to pump blood.
Hydrochlorothiazide (or HCTZ for short) is a diuretic, commonly referred to as a "water pill." It works by increasing the amount of salt and water removed from the blood by the kidneys. The extra salt and water is passed out through the urine. By increasing the amount of water removed from the blood, hydrochlorothiazide causes a decrease in blood volume, and this results in lower blood pressure.
