Blood Pressure Home > 10 mg Norvasc

Norvasc® (amlodipine besylate) comes in three different strengths, and 10 mg Norvasc is the strongest strength available. The recommended starting dosage for the treatment of most medical conditions is Norvasc 5 mg, but most people actually benefit more from taking 10 mg of Norvasc. Children ages 6-17 who are being treated for high blood pressure should not take 10 mg Norvasc.
People who take Norvasc for treating high blood pressure generally start on a lower dosage. If blood pressure goals are not reached after 7 to 14 days, however, your healthcare provider will usually increase your dose to 10 mg Norvasc.
Angina and Coronary Artery Disease
The recommended starting dose for chronic stable angina, vasospastic angina, or coronary artery disease is Norvasc 5 to 10 mg once daily. Most people will benefit more from 10 mg Norvasc once daily.
(Click Norvasc for more information on how 10 mg Norvasc can be beneficial in treating high blood pressure, angina, and coronary artery disease; general dosing guidelines for adults and children; and potential side effects of the drug.)
