Blood Pressure Home > Lisinopril 2.5 mg Tablets
There are six strengths of lisinopril available, and the 2.5 mg lisinopril tablets are the lowest strength of this medication. A healthcare provider may prescribe lisinopril to treat several conditions related to the heart and blood vessels. However, your lisinopril dosage will be based on several factors, such as your age, the medical condition being treated, other medical conditions you may have, and other medications you are currently taking.
For treating congestive heart failure or for use after a heart attack, the recommended starting lisinopril dosage is 5 mg once daily. If you are using lisinopril for high blood pressure, the recommended starting dosage is 10 mg once daily. However, if you have heart failure and kidney disease, your healthcare provider may choose to start you on a lower dose, such as the 2.5 mg tablets, taken once daily. Your healthcare provider will adjust your lisinopril dose as necessary.
