When and How Do I Take Coreg?

General considerations for when and how to take this medication include the following:

  • Coreg comes in tablet form and is generally taken twice a day.

  • Your dosage should be taken with food.

  • Coreg should be taken at the same time each day to maintain an even level in your blood.

  • For this drug to work properly, you have to take it as prescribed. Coreg will not work if you stop taking it.

  • You should not stop taking the medication without first discussing it with your healthcare provider. Stopping it abruptly increases the risk for serious side effects (see Coreg Precautions and Warnings).

Dosing Information

The dose of Coreg your healthcare provider recommends will vary, depending on a number of factors, including:

  • Your age
  • The medical condition being treated
  • Other medical conditions you may have
  • Other medications you are currently taking
  • How you respond to Coreg.

As is always the case, do not adjust your dose unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.
