Blood Pressure Home > Perindopril Medicine

Perindopril (Aceon®) is a prescription drug approved to control high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. It comes in tablet form and is sold in several strengths. The dosage your healthcare provider recommends will vary, depending on your age, whether you have other medical conditions, and other factors.
Perindopril works by blocking the angiotensin-converting enzyme -- this causes blood vessels to relax, thereby lowering blood pressure. Back pain, cough, and upper respiratory infections are some of the most commonly reported side effects of this product; however, most people tolerate it well.
