Blood Pressure Home > Lotrel Medication

The prescription medication Lotrel® (benazepril hydrochloride and amlodipine besylate) is licensed for the treatment of hypertension -- known more commonly as high blood pressure. This drug cannot cure high blood pressure, and you need to take it consistently and as your healthcare provider recommends for it to work.
Various factors affect the dose of Lotrel your healthcare provider prescribes, such as any other medications you are taking, if you have other medical conditions, and your age. Most people tolerate this product well; however, side effects have been reported and can include dizziness, cough, and headaches.
(For more info on this medication, click Lotrel. This article explains in detail how this drug works, what to discuss with your healthcare provider before taking it, how effective it was in clinical trials, and more.)
