Fosinopril sodium (Monopril®) is a prescription medication that can help:

The medication works by relaxing the blood vessels to allow more blood to flow through them. When the blood vessels relax, the heart does not have to work as hard, and more blood can be pumped from the heart to the rest of the body.

Fosinopril comes in tablet form and is taken once a day. Keep in mind that it may take several weeks to see the full effects of this drug, at which time your healthcare provider may increase or decrease your dose.
