Blood Pressure Home > Cozaar Medication

If you have high blood pressure or diabetic nephropathy, your healthcare provider may recommend treatment with Cozaar® (losartan potassium). This medication comes in tablet form and is generally taken once or twice a day. It's best to take this drug at the same time(s) each day if you can. Do not break, chew, or crush the tablets.
This medicine works by causing blood vessels to relax, which can lower blood pressure; it also slows down the progression of diabetic nephropathy. As with any drug, side effects are possible with Cozaar; common ones include dizziness, nasal congestion, diarrhea, and weight gain. Discuss these and other concerns with your healthcare provider before beginning treatment.
