Blood Pressure Home > Coreg (Carvedilol) Medication Information

Coreg® (carvedilol) is a prescription drug approved for several uses, such as treating high blood pressure and congestive heart failure. It can also improve survival rates in people who have had a heart attack. However, because not everyone can take this medication, review Coreg's safety information with your healthcare provider before starting treatment.

For example, you may not be able to take Coreg if you have certain medical conditions, such as kidney disease, diabetes, or asthma. Also, you may not be able to safely use it if you are currently taking certain vitamins, herbal supplements, or nonprescription drugs.

Although most people do not experience problems with this medicine, Coreg can cause side effects. Some of the common side effects include fatigue, diarrhea, and dizziness. If you experience any problems while taking it, or if something "just does not seem right," contact your healthcare provider.
