Several medications, such as diuretics, NSAIDs, potassium-sparing diuretics, and lithium, can cause drug interactions with Altace. For example, taking Altace with a diuretic may cause a person's blood pressure to decrease too much. And when Altace is taken with lithium, it may alter the way the body metabolizes both drugs.

Altace Interactions: An Introduction

Altace® (ramipril) potentially has a number of other medicines that it can interact with. Some of these Altace interactions can include:
 

 

 
 
  
  • Potassium-containing products, such as:
     
    • Potassium chloride (K-Dur®, Klor-Con®, Micro-K®)
    • Potassium citrate (Urocit-K®, Polycitra-K®)
    • Potassium gluconate
    • Potassium phosphate (Neutra-Phos-K®, K-Phos®)
    • Salt substitutes (used to flavor food)
