Lopressor Interactions

Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs)
NSAIDs may decrease the blood pressure-lowering effects of Lopressor. Talk with your healthcare provider about using these medications together in your particular situation.

Other Beta Blockers
Lopressor is a beta blocker and should not be combined with other beta blockers, as this may increase the risk of serious side effects.

Reserpine
Combining reserpine with a beta blocker can increase the risk of serious side effects. You may need to be monitored closely if you take these medications together. In some cases, Lopressor and reserpine should not be combined.

Ritonavir (Norvir)
If you are taking Lopressor and ritonavir together, your body may metabolize Lopressor differently than intended. This can cause an increased level of Lopressor in your body. If you are using these medicines together, your healthcare provider may choose to monitor you more closely and/or adjust your Lopressor dose.

Terbinafine (Lamisil)
If you are taking both Lopressor and terbinafine, your body may metabolize Lopressor differently than intended. This can cause an increased level of Lopressor in your body. If you are using these medicines together, your healthcare provider may choose to monitor you more closely and/or adjust your Lopressor dose.
