Who Makes Loniten?

Loniten® (minoxidil oral) is a medication used to treat severe high blood pressure in adults, children, and infants. It comes in tablet form and is generally taken once or twice daily.
 
Who makes this drug? Loniten used to be made by Pharmacia and Upjohn Company. However, only generic versions of this drug are currently available, as the brand-name medication is no longer manufactured.
 
Generic Loniten is sold under the name Minoxidil Tablets and comes in two strengths -- 2.5 mg and 10 mg. These generic products are made by a few different companies, including:

  • Mutual Pharmaceutical
  • Watson Pharmaceuticals.
