Side effects of lisinopril are usually mild and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider. In previous research studies, 5.7 percent of people with high blood pressure stopped taking lisinopril because of side effects. Of the people taking it for congestive heart failure, 11 percent stopped treatment because of side effects. Of those who took the drug following a heart attack, 17.6 percent stopped taking it due to side effects. Common side effects of lisinopril include fatigue, upper respiratory infections, body weakness, and nausea.
