Lasix® (furosemide) is a prescription drug used for controlling high blood pressure. It is also approved to treat water retention due to several causes, including congestive heart failure, cirrhosis, and kidney failure (renal failure). Several different forms of Lasix are available, including liquid, tablets, and an injectable form.
The liquid version of Lasix is available in the following strengths:
- Furosemide 10 mg per 5 mL (10 mg per teaspoonful)
- Furosemide 40 mg per 5 mL (40 mg per teaspoonful).
Some forms of this medication are currently available in generic form. Generic (but not brand-name) liquid Lasix is currently available. Both brand-name and generic Lasix tablets are also licensed for sale.
