Lasix Drug Interactions

When medications such as digoxin, lithium, or certain blood pressure drugs are taken with Lasix, interactions can occur. These reactions may result in certain side effects, such as hearing loss, extremely low blood pressure, or low potassium levels. Prior to taking Lasix, tell your healthcare provider about all other drugs you are taking to avoid potentially dangerous complications.

An Overview of Interactions With Lasix

 Lasix® (furosemide) can potentially interact with a number of other medicines. Some of the drugs that can interact with Lasix include:
 
  • Aminoglycoside antibiotics, such as:
 
    • Amikacin (Amikin®)
    • Gentamicin
    • Kanamycin (Kantrex®)
    • Neomycin (Neo-Fradin®)
    • Streptomycin

    • Aspirin (Ecotrin®, Bayer®, Anacin®)
    • Choline magnesium trisalicylate (Trilisate®)
    • Diflunisal (Dolobid®)
    • Salsalate (Salflex®, Disalcid®, Amigesic®)
