Elderly people should start with a low dosage, as they may be more likely to experience Lasix side effects.
Lasix should be taken at the same time(s) each day to maintain an even level of Lasix in your blood. However, some people do not need to take Lasix every day, especially people taking it for fluid retention.
Because Lasix increases urination, it is best to take it in the morning (to avoid needing to get up to use the bathroom throughout the night). If you take Lasix multiple times per day, it is best to take the last dose of the day before 6 p.m. (unless you are instructed otherwise).
For Lasix to work properly, it must be taken as prescribed. Lasix will not work if you stop taking it.
If you are unsure about anything related to Lasix or your dosage of Lasix, please talk to your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
