Inderal® (propranolol hydrochloride) is approved to treat several conditions involving the heart and blood vessels, such as high blood pressure and angina. This prescription medication is a type of beta blocker and works by blocking certain receptors in the body. As a result, Inderal helps to lower blood pressure, the heart rate, and the workload on the heart. This prescription medication comes in the form of a tablet and is typically taken several times a day.
