Inderal Dosage Following a Heart Attack
Following a
heart attack, the specific dose of Inderal recommended can vary based on a number of factors. It is generally anywhere between 180 mg and 240 mg a day. This amount is taken as smaller doses three or four times a day based on your healthcare provider's recommendation. For example, your healthcare provider may recommend 60 mg three times a day.
Inderal Dosage for Migraines
For
migraine prevention, the starting dose of Inderal is 80 mg a day, taken several times a day in smaller doses (such as 40 mg twice a day). Based on the
migraine response and/or
Inderal side effects, your healthcare provider may increase or decrease the Inderal dosage.
An improvement in the number of
migraines should be noticed within four to six weeks. If it is not, your healthcare provider may have you slowly stop the Inderal over several weeks and then switch you to another
migraine medication.
Inderal Dosage for Essential Tremors
For a person with an essential tremor, the starting dose of Inderal is 40 mg twice a day. Based on the tremor response and/or Inderal side effects, your healthcare provider may increase or decrease the Inderal dosage.
Inderal Dosage for Hypertrophic Subaortic Stenosis
The usual dose of Inderal to treat hypertrophic subaortic stenosis is 20 mg to 40 mg, three or four times a day, before meals and at bedtime.
Inderal Dosage for Pheochromocytoma
The usual dose of Inderal for people with
pheochromocytoma is 30 mg a day. This daily amount of Inderal is divided into smaller doses taken several times a day, such as 10 mg three times a day.
