Inderal and Dry Eyes

People taking
Inderal® (propranolol hydrochloride) may experience a range of side effects. Dry eyes, however, does not appear to be one of them. This data comes from clinical trials that extensively studied Inderal and documented its side effects. In thousands of people studied worldwide, dry eyes were reported as neither a common nor rare side effect. Dry eyes have, however, been reported rarely with other beta blockers, including the sustained-release form of Inderal -- Inderal LA® (see Inderal LA and Dry Eyes). With these drugs, in most cases, symptoms improved when the medicine was stopped.

If you have dry eyes while taking Inderal, talk with your healthcare provider. There are treatments that he or she may be able to recommend that can help improve dry eyes.
