An Overview of Hyzaar Side EffectsAs with any medicine, there are possible side effects associated with Hyzaar® (losartan potassium-hydrochlorothiazide). However, not everyone who takes Hyzaar will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it well. When side effects do occur, in many cases they are minor, meaning they require no treatment or are easily treated by you or a healthcare provider. Serious side effects can occur, but are less common.

Common Side Effects of Hyzaar
Extensive clinical trials have evaluated thousands of people worldwide who were taking Hyzaar. Based on these studies, the most common Hyzaar side effects include:
- Low potassium in the blood -- in up to 6.7 percent of people
- Infection, such as the common cold or flu -- up to 6.1 percent

- Cough -- up to 2.6 percent
