Hydrochlorothiazide Drug Interactions

Lithium (Eskalith, Lithobid)
Taking hydrochlorothiazide with lithium may increase the level of lithium in your blood, increasing your chance of side effects. In general, lithium is usually not recommended if you are taking diuretics, such as hydrochlorothiazide. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor your lithium level more closely and/or change your lithium dose.

NSAIDs
Taking hydrochlorothiazide with NSAIDs can make hydrochlorothiazide less effective. Your healthcare provider may need to increase your dose of hydrochlorothiazide or suggest medication alternatives.
