Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg Tablets
Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) is a diuretic medication licensed to treat high blood pressure and fluid retention. It comes in capsule and tablet form, and is available by prescription only.
Most adults being treated for high blood pressure typically start with 25 mg hydrochlorothiazide tablets (one tablet, once daily). Based on the initial blood pressure response and/or side effects of hydrochlorothiazide, the dosage may be increased up to 50 mg per day.
The recommended dosage for the treatment of fluid retention (edema) can vary between 25 mg and 100 mg of hydrochlorothiazide. It can be taken as a single dose per day or divided into several doses and taken more frequently.
