Exforge HCT Side Effects

Serious Side Effects

There are a number of possible side effects with Exforge HCT that you should report to your healthcare provider. These include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Signs of an electrolyte imbalance, such as:

 

    • Dry mouth and increased thirst
    • Weakness
    • Tiredness
    • Restlessness
    • Seizures
    • Confusion
    • Muscle pain and cramps
    • Decreased urine output
    • Weak or irregular heartbeat
    • Nausea and vomiting

 

  • Gout or worsening of preexisting gout
  • Lightheadedness or fainting, which can be a sign of dangerously low blood pressure (hypotension)
  • Changes in vision or eye pain 
  • Chest pain
  • Irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia)
  • Severe swelling and water retention
  • Rapid weight gain
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • High blood sugar (hyperglycemia)  
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, including unexplained rash, hives, itching, unexplained swelling, wheezing, or difficulty breathing or swallowing.
     

Rare Side Effects

There are other possible side effects with Exforge HCT that can occur. These rare side effects occur in less than 0.2 percent of people. For these side effects, it is difficult to tell whether they are actually caused by the medication itself or something else.
