Exforge HCT Interactions

There are certain medications that you may not be able to take in combination with Exforge HCT. For example, problems may occur if the blood pressure medicine is taken together with ACE inhibitors, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or carbamazepine. Drug interactions with Exforge HCT may increase the risk of high potassium levels in your blood and lead to other problems or side effects.

An Overview of Exforge HCT Interactions

 Exforge HCT® (amlodipine-valsartan-hydrochlorothiazide) can potentially interact with several other medications. Some of these medicines that may lead to drug interactions with Exforge HCT include:
 
  • ACE inhibitors, such as:

 

 

 

  

 

 

  
  • Potassium-containing products, such as:

 

    • Potassium chloride (K-Dur®, Klor-Con®, Micro-K®)
    • Potassium citrate (Urocit-K®, Polycitra-K®)
    • Potassium gluconate
    • Potassium phosphate (Neutra-Phos-K®, K-Phos®)
    • Salt substitutes (used to flavor food)
