Enalapril Side Effects to Report

There are a number of side effects with enalapril that you should report immediately to your healthcare provider. These include (but are not limited to):
 
  • Unexplained swelling of the head or neck (including the face, lips, tongue, or throat)
  • Unexplained swelling of the hands or feet
  • Unexplained skin rash
  • Itching
  • Unexplained blisters or peeling of the skin
  • Wheezing
  • Difficulty breathing or swallowing
  • Dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting spells
  • Stomach pain with or without vomiting
  • Any symptoms that might suggest an infection, such as a fever or sore throat
  • Decreases in the amount of urine produced.
 

Rare Side Effects of Enalapril

There are other possible side effects that can occur. These rare side effects occur in less than 1 percent of patients with high blood pressure or heart failure. For these side effects, it is difficult to tell whether the side effect is actually caused by the medication or something else.
