Edarbyclor Drug Interactions

Barbiturates
Taking a barbiturate with Edarbyclor may cause your blood pressure to lower too much. Talk to your healthcare provider about this potential interaction before taking these drugs together.

Corticosteroids
Taking corticosteroids with Edarbyclor could cause low blood potassium levels (hypokalemia) or other electrolyte problems. If you take these medications together, your healthcare provider may monitor your blood electrolyte levels more closely.

Diabetes Medications
Using Edarbyclor with medications used to treat diabetes may increase blood sugar levels. If you take these medications together, your healthcare provider may monitor you more closely and may need to adjust the dose of your diabetes medication.

Eplerenone
If you take Edarbyclor with eplerenone, the level of potassium in your blood may become too high. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor your blood potassium level if you take these medications together. However, this interaction is somewhat unpredictable, as the two components of Edarbyclor tend to counteract each other in terms of effects on potassium.

Lithium
Edarbyclor may increase blood lithium levels, potentially causing lithium toxicity. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor your blood lithium levels when you first start Edarbyclor. You may need a lower lithium dosage. Contact your healthcare provider right away if you have symptoms of toxicity, such as confusion, tremor, and incoordination, while taking these medications together.

Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs)
Edarbyclor can interact with NSAID medications in several ways. The combination could cause your blood pressure to increase or may cause swelling (edema), especially if you have congestive heart failure (CHF). If you have kidney disease or kidney failure, taking both NSAIDs and Edarbyclor may further damage your kidneys. Talk to your healthcare provider about this potential interaction before taking these drugs together.
