Drug Interactions

Doxazosin can potentially interact with a number of medicines (see Doxazosin Drug Interactions).
 

What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

You should talk with your healthcare provider before taking doxazosin if you have:
 
  • Liver problems, including liver failure or cirrhosis
  • Any allergies, including allergies to foods, dyes, or preservatives.
     
Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are:
 
Tell your healthcare provider about all of the medicines you currently take, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.

What If I Take an Overdose?

People who take too much doxazosin may have overdose symptoms that can include:
 
  • Low blood pressure (hypotension)
  • Lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting
  • Drowsiness
  • Loss of life.
     
If you happen to take too much, seek immediate medical attention.

How Should the Medication Be Stored?

Doxazosin should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture or heat, in an airtight container. Keep this and all medications out of the reach of children.
