Diovan 160 mg Tablets

The recommended starting dosage of
Diovan® (valsartan) for most adults with high blood pressure (hypertension) is either a 160 mg Diovan tablet or an 80 mg Diovan tablet once a day. Diovan can also treat various other conditions affecting the heart and blood vessels, such as congestive heart failure. However, your dosage will depend on several factors, such as your weight (for children), the condition being treated, other medical conditions you may have, and other medications you are taking.

When using Diovan for treating congestive heart failure, the typical recommended starting dosage is Diovan 40 mg twice a day. After a couple of weeks, your healthcare provider may increase your dose to a target dose of 80 mg or 160 mg twice a day. If side effects occur, a lower dose may be recommended.

You should take Diovan with a glass of water, and the medication can be taken with or without food. Make sure to take Diovan at the same time each day to maintain even levels of the medicine in your blood. If you are unsure about anything related to Diovan, talk to your pharmacist or healthcare provider.
