Diovan (Valsartan) Drug Information

Diovan® (
 valsartan) is approved for treating various conditions that affect the heart and blood vessels. It can also help improve survival following a heart attack.
 
Although most people do not have any problems while taking this drug, Diovan is not suitable for everyone. For instance, you may not be able to safely use this medication if you have certain medical conditions, such as kidney disease, diabetes, or gallbladder problems. You also may not be able to take this medicine if you are currently taking certain medications (including some vitamins, herbal supplements, and non-prescription drugs).
 
The drug comes in the form of tablets and is typically taken once or twice a day. Diovan tablets are available in the following strengths:
 
  • Diovan 40 mg
  • Diovan 80 mg
  • Diovan 160 mg
  • Diovan 320 mg.
